 A landlocked country of only 27,830 sq kms, Burundi borders the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania and Rwanda.

CULTURE
The official languages are Kirundi and French and the majority of the population is Catholic.

CLIMATE

The terrain is hilly and mountainous and the climate is equatorial, with two wet seasons (February-May and September-November) and two dry seasons (June-August and December-January). The temperature varies with altitude but averages 17C to 23C.
