Four police officers and four civilians - reportedly children returning to school after Eid celebrations - were killed after their truck hit a landmine on a road near Kenya's border with Somalia, police said.

It is the second such attack this month, after four police officers and a civilian died in a blast in northeast Kenya on 16 June. At least eight police officers were killed in two roadside bombings in May. Read more
